On your bikes and generate some electricity, a school in Namibia is telling unruly pupils.

Horst Fritze, principal of Swakopmund private school, plans to harness [more] the pedalling power of young miscreants, the Allgemeine Zeitung in Windhoek reported Thursday.

Instead of detention or lines, naughty pupils at the school are ordered onto exercise bikes.

Fritze also dreams of the school having its own weather station.

"The students would collect the data themselves, learn to measure cloud cover and wind speeds, assemble statistics and, if possible, make the information available on the internet," he said.
