U.S. residents trust health professionals, but are suspicious of people they believe are trying to sell them something, a Harris Poll finds. The company surveyed attitudes towards 11 types of service providers. The most trusted are doctors, dentists and nurses and the least trusted stockbrokers, real [more] estate agents and insurance agents.
Accountants, lawyers, financial advisors, bankers and mechanics were in the middle.
Almost half of the more than 2,000 adults surveyed said they trusted the health professionals. Accountants were trusted by 28 percent, lawyers 18 percent, financial advisors 16 percent, bankers 16 percent, mechanics 12 percent, insurance agents 9 percent, real estate agents 7 percent, and stock brokers 6 percent.
