There are few people who haven't heard of Manchester United. It's perhaps the best known and loved English football club (and I said perhaps so the fans of the other team's won't feel offended). But what has this team got to do with the likes of search engines Yahoo and Google?[more]
Well, not too much, for now, but according to the SearchEngineJournal, they might have a lot to do with each other in the near future. Thus, rumor has it that both internet giants are apparently in talks with the team in order to establish a Sports Marketing partnership.
Seeing the Google or Yahoo logo on a Manchester United jersey would represent a great exposure for either search engine in the UK, especially for Google which has opened a new Google Plex in London. And the club would also benefit a lot from this deal, as it will increase its profile in the United States.
However, the two companies are not the only ones involved in the race to get a spot on Manchester's jersey, because several other big companies (not necessarily technical related) have also announced their interest. To learn more on this subject, check out this article.
