PC maker Alienware has introduced computers equipped with a terabyte of hard drive space. A terabyte is equal to 1,000 gigabytes.
The SATA hard drives work with a data [more] transfer rate of 1,070 megabits per second and with an average search time of 8.7 milliseconds, the company announced.
The terabyte PCs start at around 2,000 dollars. Up to four hard drives can be linked up with one another in each computer as part of a what is known as a RAID system.
