Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures |

Well what do you know: hardly had we updated
the news about the launch of the official AoC Hyborian Adventures site, that Funcom had already delayed the title once more, until May 20, 2008.
Having already been delayed back in August 2007, the title will now need at least 8 more weeks of polishing, according to Funcom's press release. So the new launch date is now May 20, 2008.
"Despite great feedback on vital aspects like immersion, fun factor and the exciting combat system, the management of Funcom has decided to polish the game even more. Eight weeks of development work is therefore added to stress game systems and polish the game further leading up to launch," says Funcom's official statement.
“The companies standing apart in the gaming market today are those with a relentless drive to achieve quality. Even though we regret delaying the launch, I am certain we made the right choice. I hope that our followers and fans will support our decision, and respect our commitment to quality,” added Gaute Godager, Producer and Game Director of Age of Conan.
But the bad news don't stop here: apparently the number of warrior-classes included in the highly-anticipated MMO RPG has been reduced to only 12, from the previously available 15. The Prestige class has dissipated into thin air , the Lich's abilities are going to be integrated into the Necromancer's feat and spell list, and the Scion of Set is going to become part of the newest class in the game - the Tempest of Set.
"Almost everything has been preserved from the two classes [the Lich and the Tempest of Set]. Most of the abilities are still there. The only thing that is different is the concept that the Lich was more of a melee class and the Necromancer was more of a spellcaster. He still has all of the spells and trigger abilities of the Lich. The Tempest of Set almost has all of the toolsets almost completely, but re-themed to the Tempest of Set sort of idea. Yes we expect that there will be some upset people from this, but we are truly sorry that these classes do disappear after we merge them up," said "class guru" Evan Michaels, from Funcom.
Moreover, the blood'n'gore-filled MMO has received the "M" rating from the ESRB and an 18+ rating from PEGI. That doesn't mean that the title will share the same fate with Rockstar's Manhunt 2, so yes, it will be available on stores' shelves on May 20 (provided that Funcom won't polish it even further, of course...).
