S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky NOT delayed, no X60-port envisioned

We have recently reported that GSC World Games' prequel to the most atmospheric game of last year was on the brink of receiving a delay, but apparently things are going well inside the Zone and the Spring 2008 target is still reachable.

After contacting GSC, we've obtained confirmation that the skies are clear and that an easy take off for the DirectX 10-stuffed prequel is in sight. Oleg Yavorsky, senior PR manager at the Ukrainian company, told us that "Currently the official date is Spring 2008. There's no exact release date determined as of now. We should have it announced in few weeks."

Although a bit ambiguous, the message reveals that in a worst case scenario S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky will launch in April. Despite our intention to find out whether the game has gone Gold, Mr. Yavorsky remained mum on the subject.

In the light of the recent events, with GSC World Games obtaining the license to become an Xbox 360 developer, we were curious to know if there are any plans to bring Shadow of Chernobyl or Clear Sky onto Microsoft's console.

Here's the blunt response: "There's no Xbox 360 development announced at this point."

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky will also be available for download from Valve's Steam online service.
