OK, it's not like we've finally discovered the origin of the red ring
of death, but who knows, this might be an explanation: a 12 year old
boy from New York has the "ability" to crash everything electronic that
he touches, including his craved Xbox 360 console.
As every kid his age, Joe Falciatano has dreamed of incarnating one of
the super-heroes with which Marvel's comic books are filled with.
Voluntarily or not, he eventually stopped at 'Magneto Man'. And that's
because he actually possesses the power to attract metal objects and
to... crash electronic devices.
No one knows exactly how his body 'manages' to produce the
electrostatic charges, but it's a fact that the computers in his school
are not happy with Joey's presence, crashing every time the boy touches
them. His teacher, which you can see in the video below, advised him to
wear an anti-static wrist strap to fend off the crash -threat, and
until now the solution worked.
But Joe's problems didn't end up here. An avid gamer like himself
couldn't have missed the chance of fragging some friends over at Xbox
Live, so his parents bought him an Xbox console just for that. However,
the console crashed every time the boy laid his hands on the
controller, which, unfortunately for him, wasn't a wireless controller.
Eventually, his parents bought an Xbox 360 console with a wireless
controller, but Joe still has to sit in the opposite corner of the
room, which is still incovenient, knowing that he wears glasses...
