Dragon Age: Origins |
Dragon Age is already subject to day dreaming for a lot of RPG fans out there, so these new videos showing some live footage from the said game are more than welcome. We finally get to see what the atmosphere will be like in this so-called
spiritual sequel to Baldur’s Gate.
On the technical side,
the Eclipse engine looks quite good. But it’s the dialogues which are really impressive in these short excerpts from the game. Anyway, that was to be expected from a studio such as BioWare, with their long history of epically sublime games. And you can also see they’re getting even better at it: the camera angles, the voice-acting, the locations chosen for the dialogues – it’s all perfect.
Well, I may have gotten rather too enthusiastic over this whole thing, but you’d probably share my euphoria as well after viewing these two Dragon Age video treasures on
Shacknews. You’ll see that the fantasy world in this game is subtly different than the Sword Coast of Baldur’s Gate. It’s darker, more realistic,
like in some George R. R. Martin novel. Ever since Neverwinter Nights, or even before that, BioWare added levels upon levels of subtle intrigue in their stories and that’s just one of the reasons everybody’s drooling over Dragon Age: Origins.
Well don’t just stand there.
Go and watch the freakin’ videos!
