An article featured in the Dengeki Xbox 360 magazine reveals some new details about Mistwalkers's Lost Odyssey - the Xbox 360 RPG headed by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi! With the game nearing its (early?) 2006 release, the dev-team has been pumped up to an impressive 100 members, and among them are a few more creative minds who worked on previous Square games in the Final Fantasy series (Daisuke Fukugawa) and on Kingdom Hearts (Takamasa Ohsawa - now art director for Lost Odyssey).
Fukugawa's latest progress report announces that the battles and fields are all connected by now (finally, some
battle-fields!), while Ohsawa is making sure they're fully using the potential - both technical and artistical - offered by the Unreal Engine 3, though without putting too much pressure on those Xbox 360's (enough malfunctions for now, thank you). As for the game's main character, Kaim, it seems that he's been developing his body and mind for the past 1000 years, and just in case you're wondering how on earth he managed to keep the worms away for such a long time... well, the key to that will be revealed through his dreams - which will actually make up entire scenarios written by a japanese novelist. Last but not least, that blue-haired girl seen in one of the
screenshots is called Sess, she's travelling with the "old man" and... hmm, I guess we'll be hearing about her some more in the future.
