World of Warcraft's population of 6 (nearing 7) million players is often compared to that of a small country, but how would such a country look like with over 25 million online gamers? Well, just take a look at China! The gaming explosion in this country will supposedly lead to more than 60 million people playing online games by 2010 - if we're to believe this
report published today by In-Stat.
And also today,
another report predicts that the value of the Chinese gaming market will reach 2.1 billion dollars by 2010 - compared to the current value estimated at USD 683 million. The rapid development in this field is also favored by the Chinese government, even though the party's censorship is still put into action from time to time. Communism... can't live with it, can't live without it.
